Each October, NIAF holds its Annual Convention, the largest formal gathering of Italian Americans in the country, which concludes with the NIAF Anniversary Gala Dinner, honoring outstanding Italian Americans in business, science, sports, entertainment and philanthropy. The NIAF gala draws more than 3,000 people from the U.S. and Italy and has been attended by five sitting United States Presidents.
